    Austin is the capital of the U.S. state of Texas, the county seat of Travis County, and home to the University of Texas at Austin. Situated in Central Texas, Austin is the fourth-largest city in Texas (behind Houston, San Antonio, & Dallas repectively) the 16th largest in the United States, and the 5th largest city in the South. According to the U.S Census Bureau, Austin has a population of 709,893, as of July 1, 2006.

For the entire year there is an average of 111 days above 90 °F (32 °C) and 198 days above 80 °F (27 °C)., a bi-partisan group with a stated goal of "making the public safer by getting illegal guns off the streets."
